Currently Dr. Lazzara is founder a for a health news and  syndication platform focused on patient and physician education and engagement through the creation of  streaming video @ www.medicalnewsminute.com. Medical News Minute streaming videos on patient and physician education are viewed in hospitals, clinics, major news organizations, social media platforms, and OTT channels, as well as major business organizations, with the focus on enhancing patient outcomes. Medical News Minute currently distributes to streaming video to Doximity.com, NeurologyTimes.com, ContemporaryOBGYN.com, DermatologyTimes.com, ContemporaryPediatricst.com, L-3 Technologies, Adscend Media, Adventist Health, Waiting Area Media, Altemed, and other major health, business, and news organizations with over 3.2 million viewers a month.

Currently Medical News Minute is actively involved in a unique application of mobile VR headsets, and hypnotherapy to improve surgical outcomes through pain and anxiety reduction with UNC Medical School, Department of Urology, as well as using VR technology for ERAS(enhanced recovery after surgery).

Through his relationships in the medical industry Dr. Lazzara acts a consultant in device development. His recent focus is in the area of virtual reality as a tool in medical education for health care providers, and in increasing knowledge transfer for patients and healthcare consumers with chronic conditions. In the area of virtual reality Dr. Lazzara has consulted, and worked on product development ideas with Intel, Eon Reality, First Hand Technology, Inc, DeepstreamVR, and Blausen Medical. Dr. Lazzara has active virtual reality products being used clinically, and his studios have experience in the creation of virtual reality surgical productions. Dr. Lazzara has patent applications utilizing virtual reality as  tools for both physicians and healthcare consumers. 

Dr. Lazzara was a founder of MDiTV, Inc., and served on t the Board of Directors and was involved in the financial, legal,  product development, and technology platforms. Content and programming for MDiTV and Medical News Minute, including lifestyle shows, nutrition shows, news segments, interview segments, health information segments, and surgeries can be viewed @ www.youtube.com/user/MDiTVinc .  

Before founding MDiTV and Medical News Minute, Dr. Lazzara was President, Virtual Operating Room, LLC and an executive/ managing partner in Cardiac Surgical Associates, Florida Perfusion Services, and Provident Liability Company, a group of physician owned companies with gross billings of over $100 million annually, and one of the largest cardiac surgical practices in the United States. 

In addition, he is a partner and board member of Lazzara Oil Company and Lazzara Family Partnerships, privately owned companies in Florida real estate and business holdings.  Dr. Lazzara, performed the first worldwide webcast of open heart surgery in August,1998 through the Virtual Operating Room and subsequently, MDiTV, Inc., broadcast the first live cardiac surgery over a smart-phone on Dec. 15th, 2009. He is a Smithsonian Laureate for his pioneering work utilizing the Internet and information technology as a health care educational tool. Dr. Lazzara has been a member of advisory boards and a consultant to major corporations and medical device companies.
